                                                            Walt Disney's Cinderella
I am choosing to focus on Walt Disney's 1950 version of Cinderella. In both Pan's Labyrinth and Cinderella, a young girl is left to live with an evil step parent after the sickness/deaths of her biological parents. Cinderella in this version lives with her evil stepmother and two stepsisters, who force her to be their slave while they enjoy the finer things in life. Until one night Cinderella's fairy godmother comes to her and transforms her into the princess that she really is. She can now attend the ball that her stepmother and stepsisters are attending as well; they prevented her from going earlier by destroying her dress and jewelry that she and the animals handmade. At the ball, the prince becomes infatuated with her and decides he wants her to be his bride. She loses track of time and has to rush home before her magic wears off, and loses her shoe in the process. The prince finds the shoe that was left behind and is now on a search throughout all the land to find the girl who it belongs to, because he knows that this is who he wants to marry. Through some obstacles put forth by the stepsisters, he finally finds Cinderella and makes her his bride and they live happily ever after.
